ecourses and Leonie Dawson’s academy

At the start of the year, I bought Leonie Dawson’s “Your incredible year workbook – Life edition” It was much more reasonably priced than anything else like this ($10) was nicely designed and had a lot of helpful exercises and activities in it. Your incredible year workbook

I actually completed the whole workbook! I also printed out the monthly calendar and placed each at the start of every month in my A5 filofax, in front of my Dodo pad diary. I’ve found it useful and helpful.

Of course I also signed up for her blog updates/newsletters. These too are usually helpful and interesting and I tend to manage to keep up with her blog a little more regularly than i do with others that I subscribe too.

She has written a LOT of ecourses and guides and produced numerous guided meditations and the like and if you join the Academy that she started you get access to all this content for free.

  • The academy in Leonie’s words;

If you click this image and then join, it’s an affiliate link so you’ll be helping me to fund the Nourish Creativity site. (For which I will be massively grateful. Truly.) Amazing biz and life academy

Of course all the testimonials on the purchase page are glowing, and it all sounds almost too good to be true. At the moment its $199 for a years membership. Which considering how much most people online charge for ebooks and ecourses is pretty damn good value.

Now i’ve ummed and ahhed about this for quite some time. Not because I’m deluded enough to think that with my health i can ever manage to have my own art business, but because of the self growth spiritual side and how much being housebound and ill destroys your self confidence and self esteem. The design competition that I came third in also came with $150 prize money…so should I jump in?

On the one hand I think, yeah, go for it. On the other – I STILL havent been well enough to complete this ecourse,

Bloom true with flora bowley

Not because it isn’t great, but because I’m just not well enough to paint…

Wild courage ecourseI’m also in the middle of this ecourse. (Or at least I would be, if I didn’t feel so depressed that that I’m scared to start anything that requires me to dig deep and start confronting fears. I’m rather overwhelmed by life right now.) Stephanie’s ecourses attract lovely ladies too, so there a strong supportive ongoing community element that comes with taking a course with her.

I should just quit taking ecourses shouldn’t i? At least until I’ve completed these two…I suspect I’m looking for something that will help me to ‘fix’ myself. But, I doubt I’m fixable at the moment and its not like I can add to my savings any more.

Anyways – if you do join, please use one of the links in this post because they’re affilliate links and I’ll be super grateful.

Also, if you do, let me know what you think of it…and I’ll post you a limited edition card to say thanks.

  1. Hi Sand

I think that’s a really useful observation, about trying to find a fix. In therapy on Tuesday I was reflecting on the fact that I typically keep looking for the next article, the next book, the next course which will provide the perfect simple or original nugget that will answer whatever it is. It is like a fear of missing out. Devouring information is not the same as meeting the need that is driving me. Like buying the new iPhone wouldn’t fix my life and eating biscuits doesn’t bring me love.

    • True – we need to learn and do as well as devour.
Do we keep searching because we’ve not yet found the tools we need? Or are we in denial, do we have what we need already but are either not ready/well enough to use them or too scared of where we will have to journey through?

Well…the iPhone DID change my life šŸ˜‰ it’s reignited my creativity which in turn is keeping me going.

And I have so few pleasures still available, that a chocolate biscuit DOES bring me comfort šŸ˜‰ and I guess that’s fine so long as I don’t use it as a prop or a substitute for anything…life’s bit of a minefield really isn’t it?

  2. Hey Sandra, thanks so much for mentioning Wild Courage here. You are a super creative, kind, and supportive person – I think a little inspiration is good for us all, and you should just do what feels good. I also read lots and lots of books and take courses, I say do what you enjoy and don’t worry about it too much! Hugs šŸ™‚ xo

    • Aww thanks ever so much for stopping by Stephanie šŸ™‚ and leaving such a wonderful compliment, your words and thoughts are much appreciated.
Pleasure re course mention – it (and you) deserve to be mentioned. Hopefully at some point I’ll be more organised and blog a bit about it!
I threw caution to the wind and jumped in…just signed up for the Academy. (Chose a random affiliate link via Twitter.)
      Hugs from Liverpool xox

Show some love...
